THE PLACE BEHIND THE ADDRESS

How Tallus Ridge took shape

Tallus Ridge is a master planned hillside community above Shannon Lake, started by Tallus Developments in 2006 and built in 14 named phases. Its 335 detached home sites are all sold, and townhome enclaves followed from 2019. The final phase, Paramount Peak, adds 111 freehold townhomes with first move ins planned for October 2026.

Tallus Ridge climbs the forested hillside above Shannon Lake on syilx land that was planned as a whole under the Shannon Lake West comprehensive development plan, in place by 2007. Tallus Developments sold its first 52 home sites, the Stone Grove neighbourhood, in 2006. Cobblestone followed in 2007, Mountain Hollow in 2008 and Paramount in 2009, then Fairway, Big Sky and Crown Crest through 2016. In May 2014 West Kelowna council finished zoning the last section. The rules were tighter than first proposed. 8 hectares of parks and open space. The plan also called for Asquith Road to link Tallus Ridge Drive with Smith Creek.

After 2016 the developer set up its own construction arm and shifted toward townhomes. Nature's Gate, Mountain Side and Canyon Crest arrived in 2019, and Pinnacle Ridge and Edge View in 2022. By the developer's count, more than 900 households have moved in, all 335 detached home sites are sold, and over half the land is parks, protected land or open space. The final neighbourhood, Paramount Peak, has 111 freehold townhomes, with first move ins planned for October 2026. Streets here are newer and more uniform than in older Westside areas, and many lots look over Shannon Lake Golf Course and the valley. During the 2023 McDougall Creek fire, Castanet reported that no homes were lost in Tallus Ridge.

The homes & their setting

All built since 2006. Detached view homes, many with legal suites, went up through the 2010s, then townhome enclaves from 2019 (Nature's Gate, Edge View, Paramount Peak). The developer markets Paramount Peak units as freehold; confirm title and any shared covenants for other enclaves.
